People, Stop Asking These Questions To Anyone
They may have the potential to hurt.
People love being intrusive. Intrusive about other people’s lives, their problems, and their successes. They would casually shoot up a direct-personal question at you with a straight face like they’re asking about the weather.
Knowingly or not, these intrusions by people, or should I say their ‘curiosity’ to know about other people end up being hurtful. Most of these people are looking out for validation or gossip. Neither is good, for anyone.
I’ve experienced this quite a lot and thankfully learned ways to dodge/reject them. I understand how uncomfortable it can get. Although many of us are aware of the things inappropriate to ask, I think it’s time to reiterate.
Let us let people know what questions to not ask.
1. Questions About Physical Appearance —
“Why do you have so many pimples?”
A few years ago I read a gem of a piece online that said, “Never ask someone a question about their physical appearance unless it’s fixable in five seconds”. Like asking someone why their teeth look a certain way. Or maybe asking about their weight and height. In fact, asking why anyone’s any body part in a certain way is plain impolite.
