And all that happens after

“Nothing can happen more beautiful than death.”
— Walt Whitman

During my freshman year of college, we were asked to pick a topic for a communication project. I chose mine as “Death Is Beautiful.” I remember being laughed at for coming up with something that sounded so unusual. I tried hard to justify the beauty of my title but nobody would understand. Hence, I settled with the conclusion that maybe I didn’t explain well enough.

I still believe that death is beautiful but I’ve made my peace with the fact that not everybody can understand it.

It could be more about them than you

My journey of writing didn’t involve leaving jobs to avoid regret later in life. I got done with graduation and it simply came to me alongside the pandemic. For that, I believe that 2020 couldn’t have been any better for me. When I started off writing, I was as excited as a Lil’ kid with a new toy. The simple fact that people were reading the words that I — a 21-year-old wrote, blew my mind. The views, claps, responses — everything was simply too overwhelming.

I remember being so full of beans each time I published an article. I’d…

Ancient emotions

Millions of years have gone by with each generation telling its tales to the next one. The world being a blank slate, each tale brought with it, a new concept raising varied beliefs for individuals. All that we are today is an accumulation of these years. We’re lucky enough to have the resources to store the history that we create but in the case of the ancient world, reciting and singing poetic compositions was the way stories were told. People were, in fact, employed for this, partly to remember oral history, geology, and law.

The earliest recognized poems came from…

4 methods that show instant results

I’m certain many of us have had people in our lives that argue on just about anything. I have a few such friends as well and honestly, I think they’re too difficult to deal with.

Having quality debates is okay because they’re expected to reach an understanding where even if the opinions differ, they’re respected. But to fling around someone’s opinions just because you think you’re “always right” is a sure sign of a toxic and narcissistic personality.

Such people love to argue and as far as I’ve seen, you can never have your way with them if you give…

An unusual culture with rituals claiming spiritual liberation

Disclaimer — Though this story does not contain any disturbing images, the written content could be disturbing to read.

In an interview with Davor Rostuhar, the Aghori Meronath said:

“The reason why we do things that seem outrageous to the outside world is actually simple. To find purity in the filthiest! If an Aghori manages to remain focused on God even during sex with a corpse or while eating a human brain, then he is on the right way.”

Chair-in-ones for all

I suppose we all have a chair in our bedrooms. A cushioned one that relieves our hardworking butts or a stylish one that says we’re all about the funk. People also have old wooden ones. But I have the boring one.

It’s red and it’s made up of plastic. It doesn’t swing, nor does it invite naps. It isn’t funky or old or anything that I can call a personality. Yet, I’ve to sit on it all day long and work my Work-From-Home like no tomorrow.

My butt has truly faced a lot.

With its solid-colored appearance, it does look…

A quick guide

As I write this, I sit in a dumpster. I mean, my bed.

Let me visualize it for you.

There’s a blanket sulking by my left foot and on my right, a laptop charger tangling itself to infinity. Somewhere under this dumpster is a yellow AC remote, I’m sure. And I promise you it was really white when I first bought it.

Right in front of me lies the hand towel that’s been staring at me past this entire hour as I wrote this. I’m certain it’s going to continue the stalk-fest for quite a week. …

Cuddles are underrated and the degree of the calming sensation they release isn’t felt until we miss having it or we haven’t had it at all

You heard me. Professional Cuddlers do exist and they cuddle for a living.

It was earlier this month when I saw a Snapchat story that read “A day in the life of a Professional Cuddler”. It was something unusual and immediately intrigued me.

My initial judgment wasn’t good. I thought, “it must be such a silly and slow-witted job to do!”. But a careful peek inside the story followed by some online digging made me realize that it is quite different than how I — or most people would judge it to be.

So what do Professional Cuddlers do?

Well, as the name suggests, they offer…

Talking about the unnoticed things of the hush-hush year

Pandemics are rare. They probably occur once-in-a-century and I certainly didn’t think I’d be here to face one.

It wasn’t until countries started imposing lockdowns that I realized this was serious. Stores, entertainment centers, schools — everything was shut and you only got to go out for emergencies.

Nobody had seen something like that ever.

It was a painful sight but I couldn’t tune down my excitement for something new happening. Amidst the chaos, I loved experiencing a few Lil’ things that made this year, one of the best of my life.

The tragic love story of Blanche Monnier; renowned beauty of Paris

Some of us have a unique obsession with love stories. But we’re only ever head-over-heels for them when they have passion, courage, sacrifice, and of course — all the pain.

We’re spoilt like that. Blanche Monnier’s love story had everything, except a happy ending. She was locked-up in a dull room for 25 years, just because she was in love.
