5 Ways to Fuel Your Art Through Pain
It’s crazy how we underestimate pain. In difficult times, we often end up in a pool of low self-esteem diluted with self-doubt. We end up blaming ourselves for everything wrong that happens in our lives. This ultimately ends up deepening the pain that already exists. But if you use it the right way, it can make you do things that you never expected yourself to do.
Here are 5 ways in which you can fuel your art through pain:
1. Channelize the energy
Notice the intensity of your pain, it feels intolerable right? You just wish somebody would take it away from you. The intensity of this pain is the energy; you imbibe negative energy within yourself but in the form of pain. Understand the extent of the power that your pain holds, channelize this energy into your art. It could be anything like dancing, painting, writing, etc. Use your emotions of sadness and anger to get creative with your art.
2. Look to boost your self-esteem
Your pain puts you in a place where you could feel like a loser in your own eyes. Your self-esteem might go down the drain as you end up blaming yourself for all the wrong things happening in your life. Remember that, once you have reached that low point, the only way to go is up. Realize that whatever has happened, you have to rise above again. You have to start feeling good about yourself. Doing something you’re good at or something you’re passionate about will make you feel good about yourself and boost your self-esteem.
3. Introspect more
Since you’re at your lowest, you keep rethinking, trying to figure out where you went wrong. You will probably put more effort into trying to understand why you did what you did and how it has affected you, or perhaps what have you learned from it. Since your mind is already at it the most time of the day, try to understand yourself and where your interests lie. The more you understand yourself, the closer you come to your art.
4. Don’t try to distract yourself
Trying to get rid of the thorn pricking feeling that the pain brings along with it isn’t easy. You feel like escaping and so you try distracting yourself. In most cases, this doesn’t work. The more you run away from it, the more it keeps chasing you. Don’t abscond from feeling the pain, let it be. Learn to embrace it by projecting it in your art. Pain is that element that can make your art stand out.
5. Understand your-self worth
It does not matter what mistakes you have made in the past. You always have the present to prove that you’re not that person anymore. You have to study how much worth you hold. Respect yourself and your potential. Once you realize how much potential you pose, you will take the utmost pleasure in your art.
Many famous artists in the history of humankind have started their journey as a result of pain, and from where it took them; you know what to do now! Your pain can either make you or break you; it’s for you to decide.
